I obtained my ADN from Allegany College of Maryland in 1988, my BSN from the Univerisity of Pittsburgh at Johnstown in 1995, my MSN from Widener University in 1998, and my DNP at Salisbury University in May 2020.
As a registered nurse, I worked for ten years in the Emergency Department at UPMC Bedford Memorial. After passing my boards as a Family Nurse Practitioner, I worked for the next ten years between family practice and pediatric primary care offices. In 2008, I joined Bedford Surgical Associates/Advanced Vein Care. I recently resigned from there and have accepted a job with Hyndman Health Center, which is an FQHC with locations in Bedford, Hyndman, and Richland, PA. I felt a need to return to primary care and provide care for the underserved rural population in this region.
In 2015, I joined the faculty of Frostburg State University teaching in their online BSN program while creating a Master's level FNP program. The program was accredited for 10 years in October of 2019 by the CCNE, and we are graduating our first cohort of FNP's this August.
I am an active member of the Blair Regional Nurse Practitioner Association and am currently serving as their treasurer.
